GO FISH!!!

So yesterday we had

shifts to go!

Today Aaron worked his last noon shift as a resident

G had just swatted Aaron in the nose with the card right before that second pic
and she thought it was hilarious.  She snickered.  Hehe!!

And to prove that we still do other things besides pack boxes and countdown the days until residency is over, M and I played Go Fish today.  I was loving every second because of her complete honesty.  She cracked me up.  She is still too little to hold her cards so that others can't see them and every time she would get a card she would show me or her face would light up and she'd say, "Ah!  I got Belle!"  (We were playing the princess version...is there any other? :)).  I tried to explain that she shouldn't show me or tell me, but she pretty much just couldn't help it.  I love her!
And for those who might care...we each won 2 games.

Hope every one had a great 4th of July!!!

Stranded at the Drive In

Last night we went to see Cars 2 in our car at the Drive In with 4 other families.

In theory this idea sounded like TONS of fun.  I mean what could be more fun than watching a Cars movie in your car?  Then again when you are dealing with the dynamics of 11 children all under the age of 5 after 9 PM some of which did not nap that afternoon....anything can happen!!!

But....it went really well and the kids (and parents) had a great time tail-gating before the movie.  They hula-hooped, ran around in the parking lot chasing soccer balls and frisbees, picnicked, and played in the concrete and dirt (I don't have these pics on my camera, but I'm sure they will turn out hilarious.  M basically had a dirt mask and all of their hands were black.).

UPDATE:  I got the picture of the dirty face.  And as a friend reminded me, M kept telling us that she was NOT dirty!!!  She was adamant about it so we just went along with it to get the picture...and then handed her a wet wipe.

The movie was really cute, but the storyline was a bit over the kiddos heads.  I think they just enjoyed the racing cars and didn't really care too much about the James Bond feel to the movie.  And G's face was classic when the movie came up on the giant screen.  Her jaw literally dropped and she just stared in awe and pointed at the screen.  Too funny!!!

And 5 hours (yep. midnight.),  a pizza & bag of popcorn, and 500 mosquito bites later...we brought home 2 tired, but very happy kiddos!

Hula-Hoop Practice

By 9 PM the waiting was getting a little rough

Ready for the show

How fun is this picture?!!
Someone at another screen was there in their old car
and my friend Kim got this cute picture.
