I can not even begin to tell you how many pounds of LIVE crawfish he bought from Louisiana, but there was plenty of food for everyone.

Just so you know, they are kind of weird looking and you have to work really hard for the smallest little bit of meat. Today I heard someone say that eating crawfish is a social event. I completely agree. There is plenty of time to chat while you are ripping its tail off, pulling its legs off, and trying to pry that small segment of meat out of the darn shell. Aaron talked me into trying some last summer so, fortunately, I was prepared for how they would look, how to peel them, and how good they tasted once you were done prying and peeling. I do draw the line at sucking out the head tho. I tried it once and, I guess that is part of the "experience," but all you get is a seawater taste and that, in my opinion, is just disgusting.
While I was prepared for the crawfish itself, I was not prepared for my children's reactions to it. I predicted that M would LOVE it, since she likes crab, and that G would not touch it. As children like to do, they proved me completely wrong. M would not even try it, though she did touch it, and G could not get enough of the stuff. Aaron and I could not peel fast enough.
