Surprise

Near the end of March, Aaron and I decided that we were going to take the girls to Disneyland.  Then we decided that it would just be SO much easier and, let's face it, much more fun to wait and not tell them until the morning that we left.  I think this may have been the hardest secret that I have ever had to keep.  It was a long 6 or 7 weeks!!!!

Finally the morning of May 7th arrived.  Our bags were packed and we got the girls up.  We asked them what they would like to do that day (since Daddy didn't have to work) and they started coming up with ideas:  the zoo, the farm, etc.  We then told them that we thought we should do something extra special and that we had a clue.  They were each given a red bag with Mickey ears on it, a Minnie Mouse shirt, a princess spiral and pen, and a Cars luggage tag.  M hesitantly scanned each item and when asked where she thought we might be going she whispered, "Disneyworld..."  She figured her guess was a little farfetched, but worth a shot.  Her face was priceless when we told her that that was exactly where we were going and that we'd be getting on a plane VERY soon.  G was excited about the gifts and thought it sounded fun to meet some princesses, but she didn't really get it.  We expected that.  

Just going to the airport was fun, since M LOVES the airport and since it was a whole new experience for G (she'd flown before, but was too small to remember).  I will never forget G's excitement as the plane accelerated and went up, up, up.  She loved it.  

Our girlies were troopers the first day of our trip.  We left pretty early, forgot their lunch for the plane, so they had no naps and no lunch.  By the time we arrived at Disneyland they were beyond excited, but extremely tired and hungry and of course our room wasn't ready.  We dumped our bags with the bell service and headed to Down Town Disney and, more importantly, FOOD.  

After filling her tummy, G did something that is rare for my girls.  She climbed in my lap and fell fast asleep in a public place!!!  Poor thing was exhausted.  While she napped in the stroller, we explored Down Town Disney.  Such fun!!!  We couldn't wait to enter the parks the next day.
